Why did you decide the Little Theatre was the right venue for you?
We both absolutely love the cinema, and it's been an important part of our relationship since the very start. We completely fortuitously stumbled across the Little Theatre when researching wedding venues, and once we visited we were just totally enchanted. It has such history and character, feels really intimate, and Bath is such a beautiful city to marry in. We also loved the scope to be really creative with our ceremony and make it very personal to us.
How did you decide on the music for your ceremony?
Music was quite easy to decide upon - our processional song was one that's 'our song' (a slow one by Cat Power) then we wanted a really upbeat and fun recessional, so we went for a lively, instrumental version of 'You are my sunshine'. When we had drinks and popcorn in the courtyard afterwards, we went for 60’s style pop and had an awesome vintage red Thunderbird and 'Just married' leather jackets to drive off in. We wanted to really make the most of the vintage cinema feel.
Did you show any films as part of your ceremony, tell us why you decided to show this film? Or did you make any films as a couple? Who was involved in creating the films?
Yes, this was our favourite part of the ceremony, and we had lovely comments from our guests too. We made a few of our own films - a photo slide show for when our guests were waiting, a Star Wars themed intro, and a little film about our story with various clips from the last few years of our relationship. We also picked film clips that had meaning to us - a sentimental one from La La Land, a silly one from Anchorman, and the Pixar short 'Lava.' We spent a lot of time working out what we wanted to screen and that was probably the most fun part of the whole planning process.
Did any of your friends or family perform or share anything as part of your wedding? Who would you like to particularly thank for making the day extra special?
At the ceremony we just made the most of the screen so we didn't have any speeches or performances, although we had some absolutely beautiful speeches from our friends and family later on at our reception. But our friends and family were all absolutely amazing in supporting us with the planning process and on the day itself.
Any other things you’d like to mention?
We had an incredible experience with The Little Theatre. The venue itself is so wonderful but the team were also just brilliant. Aaron was our main point of contact and we always felt like he genuinely cared about our day. The team that worked on the day itself were also so warm and friendly. We truly couldn't recommend it more for a highly memorable, unique and personal wedding!
